About this Event

Host Organization: Office of the Dean of Science

Did you know that meditation has the power to change the physical structure of your brain? Come discover what happens to your brain during your practice. Learn how to use its abilities more effectively in order to bring about positive change. Your Brain on Meditation presents current research that demonstrates the physical and psychological benefits of meditation- benefits that extend beyond ourselves to those around us.
We will explore:
• how the brain works
• what is meditation
• ways that neural circuitry creates patterns of thoughts and feelings
• connections between body, breath and brain
• the brain's natural capacity to adapt and change
• meditation’s potential to deepen the connection to ourselves and others

This interactive workshop combines science with practical and insightful exercises. Experience how meditation can lead to a fuller life and greater fulfillment, both as a person and as a scientist.

Happiness is not something ready made.
It comes from your own actions.
