Presenter: Paloma Raggo, School of Public Policy and Administration

Welcome to My Online Classroom is a workshop series led by instructors, for instructors, with a specific focus on sharing a wide variety of ideas, strategies, and approaches to teaching online. The sessions will begin with a brief overview from the presenter, and then open for question-and-answer and discussion more broadly. The idea is to create spaces where instructors, regardless of experience, can exchange ideas for teaching online.

This particular session will be led by Paloma Raggo, an Assistant Professor with the School of Public Policy and Administration. Her research interests include international NGO/nonprofit governance, leadership, research methodologies, and global philanthropy. Since 2013, she has been teaching three fully online courses as well as one hybrid/blended one. Her presentation will focus on tips and tools on how to efficiently grade and engage with online students. She will also briefly discuss three different approaches to online courses depending on the type of material you teach that could inform your practice. At the beginning of the pandemic, she prepared a quick tutorial for her colleagues that you might find helpful . She has another helpful tutorial using notability for audio feedback that you might find helpful.
