An interview is about establishing and building a connection, and in the engineering field, both the technical and non-technical aspects are equally important. Pooja Suresh has built and led teams of scientific experts, highly skilled engineers and Carleton co-op students, and has a wealth of experiencing hiring and nurturing today’s top talent.

Pooja will share with you her advice on how to prepare for interviews, how to have effective interviews that work for you and the employer, and how to follow up. She will share anecdotes of real-life experiences from her interviews with Carleton students and grads, and her own interviews, on what works well and what doesn’t, including typical interview questions and examples of responses, level of technical detail required and specific tips on how to differentiate yourself.

Rather than an objective and comprehensive treatise on interviews, this talk is designed to be practical and useful, subjective based on personal experience but will leave you with actionable advice.
