Raoul Delcorde is a Belgian ambassador and a scholar (Ph.D political science). His diplomatic career stretches over 35 years and he was namely ambassador to Sweden, Poland and, recently, to Canada. He was Director Middle-East/North Africa at the ministry of foreign affairs in Brussels until his retirement in March last. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Louvain for the last 17 years. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium and has published half a dozen books, mainly in the diplomatic field.
