Blayne Haggart,
Department of Political Science, Brock University
Blayne Haggart is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brock University in St. Catharines, ON. A proud Carleton alumnus, graduating with his PhD in Political Science with a specialization in political economy, he started his academic journey in 1991 in the Carleton journalism program before switching to Economics and Political Science, with a brief detour into Engineering. He also holds an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto and another in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Prior to his academic career, he was a journalist with the social justice-focused newspaper Catholic New Times, and an economist, serving various parliamentary committees. His first book, Copyfight: The Global Politics of Digital Copyright Reform, was published in the spring by University of Toronto Press.
