The lecture will provide a practitioner's perspective on the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) in the most recent period; the special relationship between the EU and the United Nations; and the role of the EU's new diplomatic service, the European External Action Service (EEAS). The lecture will also explore the importance of the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission.
