Undergraduate research is an umbrella term for all kinds of learning done outside the classroom – experiential learning, immersive learning, community-based learning, internships and practicums, and even international exchanges and travel.

Undergraduate research is happening all over campus, run by individual faculty and departments. The Discovery Centre facilitates undergraduate research by harmonizing, promoting, supporting and providing funds for these activities. Come learn about the events taking place at the Discovery Centre that facilitate undergraduate research and contribute your thoughts on how Carleton can move to incorporate undergraduate research in all programs across campus. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Provost Scholar Award, the I-CUREUS Grant, the Bader International Travel Award, our library of materials from the Council of Undergraduate Research, and our upcoming Undergraduate Research Conference.

This workshop will be of interest to those who are new to undergraduate research, but also to those who are already engaged in their own projects and looking for institutional support and/or connections with other like-minded members in other disciplines.
