About this Event
Host Organization: Carleton University Choir
Please join the Carleton University Choir on Saturday April 6th for a special mixed program of sacred and secular selections. For this concert, Choir members were asked to suggest some of their favourite choral works. The concert entitled “Sonic Splendour” will be held in Dominion Chalmers Church, 355 Cooper Street and start at 7:30 pm. Some music, by it’s very nature “tears a hole in the sky” the sky of our spirits and souls and deepens our lives and brings new meaning to what we do and how we live. Several of the compositions to be presented are inspired by texts of profound beauty and cause us to linger in the spaces between the words and within the Sonic Splendour of colours created by close harmony and intriguing textures. At this concert the choir will pay tribute to Dr. Pius Adesnami with the singing of "Indodana" an African song, in the Makwaya Christian choral tradition.
CBC's Adrian Harewood will host the concert. Our special guest will be Anita Pari (Pianist/Composer)
