Allan Fogwill, President and CEO of the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI), will present alternative pathways to transform the electricity grid in the four western provinces: BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This will include different pathways to achieving deeper emissions reductions, impacts on system reliability, the value of trade, and impacts on electricity rates. He will also provide insights into necessary attributes of technologies and system configurations that would help facilitate the transition.

An energy sector executive with over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sector, Mr. Fogwill has specialized in economic and market analysis of energy sector issues as well as policy development in the realm of energy regulation and efficiency. Mr. Fogwill has previously worked for natural gas distribution companies in BC and Ontario as well as for the Ontario Energy Board.
