Too often, the course design process can be a solitary, isolated experience. This is especially true if you’re relatively new to a department or a contract instructor: it is not always easy to infer what precisely your department hopes a course will achieve or how it relates to the larger program. The good news, however, is that it doesn’t have to be this way. In this session, you will have the chance to reflect on the relationship between your course and the broader learning goals of your specific department and discipline. Through problem-focused instruction and hands-on activities, you will learn how to design courses that more effectively serve your department’s programs and students.

This session will be jointly hosted by representatives from the EDC (Morgan Rooney, Educational Development Coordinator) and from the Office of the Vice-Provost (Andy Thompson, Program Assessment Specialist).
