Whether you’re preparing to teach for the first time at Carleton, returning to the classroom after a break, or just looking for new some new ideas and approaches, this session can help get you ready for the start of the new term. Participants will explore subjects such as the physical and virtual (i.e., cuLearn) ‘classroom’, effective plans and strategies for streamlining communication with students, activity ideas for the first day of class, Carleton policies that could impact your plans for assessment, and resources that you can connect your students to for support. At the end of this session, you will be able to list important factors to consider when preparing for the first week of classes, as well as identify and reflect on what adjustments or steps you might need to take in light of those factors.
