Join artist Marlene Creates and co-curator Andrea Kunard for a walk-through of the exhibition Marlene Creates: Places, Paths, and Pauses. Delving into her photography, mixed media assemblages, videos and poetry, they will guide us through this major retrospective, offering a comprehensive and immersive experience of nearly four decades of Creates’ unique practice.

This event is free and everyone is welcome!

Her work has been presented in over 350 solo and group exhibitions around the world and her work is represented in numerous public collections across Canada. She was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2001 and was recently awarded a Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts.

Andrea Kunard is Associate Curator of Photographs, Canadian Photography Institute at the National Gallery of Canada. She earned her PhD in 2004 from Queen’s University, and has published in numerous academic journals, magazines and books. As a curator, Kunard explores the intersections of contemporary and historical issues in photography, focusing on cultural uses of the medium.
