CUAG invites you to a special event held in conjunction with Open Space Lab 03, which features the internationally-renowned Brooklyn artist Kambui Olujimi. Actors will read rehearsed excerpts from Olujimi’s narrative Wayward North (2010), followed by a conversation between Olujimi and OSL curator Anna Khimasia.
Kambui Olujimi’s installation Wayward North was commissioned by Art in General (New York) in 2010. It was comprised of twelve embroidered celestial star maps, sculptures, photographs and drawings that work in tandem with his mythical narrative of the same name. Wayward North blends real places and events with the imagined to create a mythical world that reflects the hopes and fears of what is possible in this current moment.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome! CUAG is an accessible space, with barrier-free washrooms and elevator.
Parking in Lot P18 (the big concrete parking garage over the O-train tracks) is a $5.00 flat rate on weekends. See the “visiting” page of CUAG’s site for instructions.
