Susan Schuppli, a researcher and practitioner based in the United Kingdom, will present her work examining material evidence from war and conflict, environmental disasters, and climate change.
Dr. Schuppli is a professor and director of the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she is also an affiliate artist-researcher.
In addition, she serves as advisory board chair of Forensic Architecture, a multidisciplinary research group at Goldsmiths, that uses architectural techniques and technologies to investigate cases of state violence and violations of human rights around the world.
Her recent documentary films focus primarily on climate change within the cryosphere and involve work with Earth scientists, grassroots organizations, and affected communities.
Creative projects have been exhibited throughout Europe, Asia, Canada, and the United States. Schuppli has published widely within the context of media and politics and is the author of the book Material Witness published by MIT Press in 2020.
