A new European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen, is scheduled to take office later this year. In this seminar, Brussels-based journalist Anca Gurzu reviews the composition and work program of the new Commission. She discusses how the new Commission, in interaction with the other EU institutions (also under new leadership), will shape EU policy, paying particular attention to files that matter for Canada.
Anca Gurzu is a reporter with POLITICO. Based in Brussels, she reports mainly on European Union issues. Before moving to Brussels in 2013, Anca covered Canadian external relations in Ottawa for Embassy News. She holds a Bachelor in Journalism and an MA in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies from Carleton University.
This event is hosted by Carleton University's Centre for European Studies Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
