The Office for Disability Issues (ODI), Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), in collaboration with the READ Initiative (Research, Education, Accessibility and Design, invites you to a panel discussion on Leadership in Employment of Persons with Disability. This event is co-hosted by the Paul Menton Centre for students with Disabilities and draws on presenters from the not-for-profit and educational sectors. Refreshments will be served.

The panel members are:
(1) Dean Mellway, Acting Director, READ Initiative at Carleton University;
(2) Don Gallant, National Director, Ready, Willing & Able;
(3) Cheryl Colmer, Ottawa Regional Director of the Neil Squire Society; and
(4) Julie Kingstone, Co-leader, LiveWorkPlay;
The session will be moderated by Larry McCloskey, Director of the Paul Menton Centre at Carleton University.

This panel discussion is aimed at showcasing organizations in Canada that have demonstrated leadership in promoting accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities. It is part of a broader program of activities ODI has planned for a visit to the National Capital Region (NCR) by members of the International Initiative of Disability Leadership’s Sponsoring Countries Leadership Group (IIDL/SCLG) from November 29 to Dec. 2, 2016. We are expecting representatives from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Ireland, England, and the United States of America, all of whom are expected to attend the panel discussion as guests.

Following the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to engage presenters in dialogue through a question and answer segment. As space is limited, please convey your interest in participating as soon as possible.
