Dr. Ashlee Cunsolo Willox to present,
“Lament for the Land: Climate Change & Mental Health in the North”

Abstract:
The Circumpolar North is experiencing rapid climatic and environmental changes, with serious impacts on Inuit culture, livelihoods, and wellbeing. Sharing the voices and wisdom of Labrador Inuit, this talk weaves together a narrative of change, loss, hope, and resilience within the context of rapid climate change in the North, and discusses the mental and emotional impacts of climate change.

Bio:
Dr.Cunsolo Wilcox is a Canada Research Chair in Determinants of Healthy Communities at Cape Breton University in Unama’ki/Cape Breton. She has a particular interest in the social, environmental, and cultural determinants of Indigenous health, capacity development, environmental ethics, and the social justice implications of social and health inequality.
