Lecture Synopsis: Smartphones allow people to connect with others and access various services, such as online banking. Due to the sensitive nature of the content accessible through smartphones, security measures are important to help people protect their online privacy. However, security features are not always accessible to people who are blind or have low vision. PhD student in Information Technology (Digital Media) Daniella Briotto-Faustino will discuss her research which investigates the accessibility of user authentication methods such as PINs and proposes the use of a more tactile method.
About the Series: Ingenious Talks is a special speaker series from the Faculty of Engineering and Design that engages the community in discussions of timely and innovative ideas in engineering, design and technology.
