With speaker Shawn Kenny – Associate Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Carleton University

About the Talk:
Remote sensing has revolutionized how we observe the earth and collect data. The information obtained from remote sensors can be analyzed across a range of scientific disciplines to examine and study processes and events that may impact the natural and built environment.

Sensor networks can be used to monitor changes in land cover and use, manage natural resources and infrastructure, promote security, and support sustainable development and humanitarian efforts.

This talk will explore the use of remote sensing in the field of civil engineering, and focus on how this technology can be used to address the potential effects of ground movement geohazards on linear infrastructure

About the Series:
Ingenious Talks is a special speaker series from the Faculty of Engineering and Design that engages the community in discussions of timely and innovative ideas in engineering, design and technology.
