Free Public Lecture in the Glebe by Christopher Jensen.
Christopher Jensen is a lecturer at Carleton University who recently received his doctorate in Buddhist Studies from McMaster University. His research focuses on dreams, miracle stories, and Chinese hagiographical traditions.
The lecture description:
"Medieval Chinese Buddhists, both monastic and lay, viewed certain types of dream experiences as reliable sources of religious insight and inspiration. In this talk, I will discuss the role of medieval Buddhist monks as dream interpreters, and explore the ways that early medieval Chinese Buddhist views on dreams both emerged from and challenged prior Chinese perspectives."
