More Information: Please click here for additional details.
Come join our volunteers from Carleton University's Department of Earth Sciences and the Ottawa-Gatineau Geoheritage Project at area parks, heritage sites and green spaces to learn how geological processes have shaped the landscape and provided resources for our use. We will host 7 sites this year including some of our more popular destinations as well as 2 spots on campus. We will be at Champlain Lookout and the Stromatolites at Champlain Bridge in Gatineau; at the Cardinal Creek Karst in Orleans; the Pinhey Sand Dunes in Nepean; a guided hike of the South March Highlands in Kanata (starts at noon); and two sites on Carleton Campus, at the new rock display in front of Steacie Building and we will open our Sample Preparation Laboratory for visitors to bring a rock to cut. Locations, directions and more information can be found at www.earthsci.carleton.ca
