Former UN ambassador and Security Council member Paul Heinbecker to give keynote address.

Canada’s role in conflicts abroad is the subject of heated debate as the Canadian military expands its mission in the Middle East.

Should Canadian Forces be on the front lines? Should they be engaged in firefights? Or should Canada give priority to peacekeeping efforts?

FPA Research Month’s closing panel will feature a discussion on this topic with former UN Ambassador Paul Heinbecker, who helped negotiate an end to the Kosovo war, was a leading opponent of the Iraq war, and is an advocate of the International Criminal Court and the Responsibility to Protect.

He will be joined onstage by FPA researchers engaged with this issue.

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
