Author Meets Readers invites Carleton students and the community to join an informal discussion on new books published by members of the Carleton University Faculty of Public Affairs.

About the Book:
A lively look at the rise of entrepreneurs in Raúl Castro’s Cuba. The authors contrast the approaches and government policies of Raúl and his brother, Fidel Castro, towards Cuba’s fledgling private sector, including the underground economy and small enterprises.

About the Author:
Arch Ritter is a Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus in the Department of Economics and Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University. His field of research is development economics with a focus on issues in Latin America. He blogs at thecubaneconomy.com.
