The Premier’s 2016 budget committed the Government of Ontario to developing a Provincial Employment Strategy for People with Disabilities. Participating ministries, including the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario and the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, are currently conducting consultations to inform the development of this strategy.
Carleton’s READ (Research, Education, Accessibility and Design) Initiative and NEADS (National Educational Association for Disabled Students) would like to invite students with disabilities to be part of a small focus group to discuss this important initiative impacting post-secondary students with disabilities. We are seeking your input on elements of the strategy that address the experience of students with disabilities at Ontario’s colleges and universities. This includes the transition from post-secondary school to employment.
The meeting will take place on Friday November 18, from 10:00 am till noon. The meeting will be held in Room 2228 of the River Building
Your insight and experience is extremely valued and will be critical in shaping this important provincial strategy. This event has limited space, so register early!!
