This is the 5th annual Economics Alumni Reception at Throwback!

Hosted by the Department of Economics and the Economics Chapter of the Carleton University Alumni Association, this event is a great opportunity for Economics alumni of all eras to meet and network with fellow Economics alumni, faculty, staff and students.

This year's guests of honour include:

Anil Arora, Chief Statistician of Canada.
Mr. Arora, a graduate of the University of Alberta, is a career statistician. He joined Statistics Canada in 1988, where he served in a variety of roles before being appointed Assistant Chief Statistician of Social, Health and Labour Statistics in 2008. In 2010, Mr. Arora moved to Natural Resources Canada, where he served as Assistant Deputy Minister of the Minerals and Metals Sector and then later as Assistant Deputy Minister of Science and Policy Integration. Subsequently, he joined Health Canada in the capacity of Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Products and Food Branch. Then, in 2016, he was appointed to his present position of Chief Statistician of Canada.

Marge Brooks
There will be a special presentation for Marge Brooks, long-time Graduate Administrator in the Department of Economics, who retired on May 31.

The reception will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, alumni giveaways and cash bar.
