Artist David Kaarsemaker will be leading an informal walk-through of his exhibition, “David Kaarsemaker. Pictures,” on Monday, August 25 at 7 p.m. The exhibition is Kaarsemaker’s University of Ottawa MFA thesis exhibition.
David Kaarsemaker was born in Chicago and grew up in British Columbia and Burkina Faso. He received a BFA from Concordia University and is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Ottawa. Kaarsemaker has received the Curtlands Foundation Prize (2013), several Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council Project Grants (2009-2011) and completed an artist residency at Gros Morne National Park (2012). His work is included in the Newfoundland Provincial Art Bank Collection, The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery, the City of St. John’s Art Collection and the City of Ottawa Art Collection. He is represented by Christina Parker Gallery in St. John’s and Galerie St-Laurent+Hill in Ottawa.
