About this Event
Host Organization: School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies
Colonialism is the situation we are immersed in--its culture is the realm of the repeated, the ingrained, the fleeting, the actual. For this year's Vickers-Verdyn Lecture in Canadian Studies, Dalie Giroux will speak of images from family archives, vernacular art, media reels, literature, and rumour, as she addresses the predicament of culture as colonial culture in Quebec. Giroux is a political philosopher in the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies and the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa.
