Dr. Cassandra Morrison from the Department of Psychology at CU presents "From Perceived Decline to Detectable Change: Cognitive and Neural Signatures of Subject Cognitive Decline."
This talk will discuss the relationship between subjective cognitive decline (SCD), cognitive decline, and dementia conversion. SCD is a critical early indicator of cognitive decline, representing a potential preclinical stage of dementia that can be identified based on self-reported experiences rather than rather than clinical assessments and biomarker evidence. By exploring the relationship between SCD and cognitive and brain changes in cognitively healthy older adults, we can gain a deeper understanding of the earliest manifestations of dementia, offering critical insights for both clinical practice and ongoing research.
