Once in a hundred year’ weather related disasters are now occurring on a yearly basis. Increasingly, reports of diverse mental health symptoms such as grief, anger, despair and guilt are being reported. Eco-anxiety, the psychological distress associated with climate change may be promoting stress-related pathologies resulting in disrupted immune function and elevated inflammatory processes. It is estimated that there are millions of deaths every year attributable to climate change. This symposium will examine climate change and its relation to health crises, focussing on the impact to mental health and wellbeing. To learn more visit science.carleton.ca
