In the style of Canada Reads, we present Carleton Reads. Four defenders will bring their diverse perspectives to this year\'s theme: Carleton Feasts. The contenders and their chosen themes are:

• Josh McJannett, Dominion City Brewer + Co-Founder, defending Beer
• Mike Reynolds, Everyday Girl Dad Blogger, defending Never-ending Feasts
• Patti Harper, Carleton University Librarian, defending Desserts
• Dr. James Wright, Professor and Musicologist, defending Music

Hosted by Laurence Wall of the CBC.

The debates will take place in MacOdrum Library from 7pm – 9pm. MacOdrum Library will bring songs, dance, music, and, of course, food and drink.

Live performance from Gillan and Ben Rutz at 7pm.

Ben Rutz is a touring fiddle and mandolin musician for Juno winning artist Johnny Reid. He has played the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee at age 16. He is a five time nominee for the CCMA fiddle player of the year. He has also toured, performed and recorded with George Canyon, Jimmy Rankin, Terri Clark and Glass Tiger. See if Dr. James Wright is correct and if the live music is the best part of our Feast.

\"When every guest had been welcomed and was finally inside the gate, there were songs, dances, music, games, and, of course, food and drink. There were three official meals: lunch, tea, and dinner (or supper). But lunch and tea were marked chiefly by the fact that at those times all the guests were sitting down and eating together. At other times there were merely lots of people eating and drinking — continuously from elevenses until six-thirty, when the fireworks started.\"
