The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately caused harm among racialized people and in particular, among Black Canadians. However, everything we knew coming into the pandemic, about why there are racial health inequities, could and should have prevented these disproportionate harms.
What was known about racial health inequities coming into the COVID-19 pandemic? Why didn’t government and broad society act on this information? What needs to change and how might this happen?
Explore these questions and delve deeper into this topic with guest speaker Dr. Arjumand Siddiqi as she presents a Zoom webinar on Feb. 11 as part of Carleton University’s ACE EDI event series.
