The first year of university brings exciting opportunities - and real challenges. Many students arrive on campus unsure of what’s expected or how to manage the increased independence, academic workload, and social change.

To help ease that transition, Carleton offers Academic Prep: How to Be a University Student, a non-credit, one-week summer course designed to build the habits, skills and confidence to support a successful first year. It’s a practical way for students to begin their journey with clarity and confidence.

Students register for this course on Carleton Central, along with their academic courses.
