12:20-1:45pm: Ryan McMahon (Comedian, Write and Media-Maker) Keynote Address “Art, Media, and activism: Sharpening our tools for Empowerment”
Comedian, writer, youth educator, and media-maker Ryan McMahon will talk to us about the power of art and media to shape our inner activists and empower ourselves and our communities. As a “kid that grew up in the bush” to “the fastest rising Native comedian working in North America today” (CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival), Ryan shares his insights surrounding how to ground the self culturally while finding broader success in the mainstream, all while tapping in to your creative self.
