About this Event
Host Organization: Health and Counselling Services
News of significant events happening around the world can be distressing for Carleton’s global community.
The International Student Services Office is collaborating with Health and Counselling Services on ‘Coping with World Events’ – a three-part workshop series for Carleton students impacted by events around the world.
Join Berak Hussain, Registered Psychotherapist and International Student Counsellor, for threein person workshops. Each week, Berak will guide the group in understanding emotional responses to world events, and exploring strategies to navigate life when challenging circumstances arise.
Sessions take place:
October 6 from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
October 13 from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
October 20 from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Room 1501 CTTC
Through participating in these workshops, participants can expect to learn more about their own stress responses to world events, strategies to cope with negative thoughts and feelings, and ways to access support during difficult times.
Registration closes Wednesday, October 5 at 4:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to attend all three workshops to benefit fully from this program.
