We will be discussing a well-known book by the German sociologist Karl Mannheim, Ideology and Utopia. There will be four meetings in total during the academic year: two in the fall and two in the winter.
For those less familiar with the reading group, the aim of this activity is to bring together Faculty members and graduate students from different subfields to read and discuss books that have left a significant mark in the social sciences and humanities. This reading group is the opportunity to join us in a collective effort to read great works more closely and to partake in a (casual, yet productive) interdisciplinary dialogue.
Students and Faculty members from other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities are welcome to participate.
