About this Event
Host Organization: Advancement
This National Philanthropy Day (Friday, November 15th), join Nav Bhatia, the Raptors 'Superfan', as he chats about the power of giving back and his personal journey with basketball and philanthropy.
If you followed the Raptors’ amazing run last season, you’re likely a fan of the Superfan. But did you know that in addition to his love for the game of basketball, he’s also a successful entrepreneur and passionate philanthropist?
Being a visible minority and immigrant from India, Nav has faced struggles and discrimination throughout the years. His philanthropic vision looks to address this challenge: he wants to unite people of all ages and backgrounds through basketball. He created a not-for-profit organization called the Nav Bhatia Superfan Foundation, which raises money to build basketball courts and camps for kids in Canada and around the world. It also supports Canada Basketball and the World Vision Rise-Up Daughters of India initiative, which helps to build washrooms for girls in Northern India.
This event is open to the entire Carleton community and beyond. Space is limited so we kindly ask for your registration by Nov 12.
