CUAG invites you to a party celebrating the opening of our fall exhibitions. Same place, new day and new time: Sunday 15 September from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
At 3:00 p.m. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, President of Carleton University, will offer opening remarks (with ASL interpretation), followed by a collaborative performance by Bear Nation Drummers and Oto-Wa Taiko.
We’re excited to open four new exhibitions: 1) Rah: SuperNova; 2) Olivia Johnston: Saints and Madonnas; 3) Sites of Memory: Legacies of the Japanese Canadian Internment; and 4) Inheriting Redress: The Japanese Community Association Archive.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome! CUAG is an accessible space with barrier-free washrooms.
Discount passes ($5.00 flat rate) will be available for purchase at the tunnel entrance from 1:45 - 3:15 p.m., for parking in Lot P18 (the big concrete parkade built over the O-train tracks). Or, buy a pass ($6.00 flat rate on weekends) at a “pay by plate” machine in Lot P18 itself. Please see the visiting page of CUAG’s website for directions.
Traffic flow on Carleton’s campus has changed https://carleton.ca/transportationplan/maps/
CUAG acknowledges with gratitude the support of the Ottawa Japanese Community Association, the Ottawa Japanese Cultural Centre and the Embassy of Japan in Canada.
