School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA) alumni, current SPPA students, faculty and staff are invited to a reception to welcome our new students and re-connect with fellow graduates. Bruce Linton – Co-Chairman, Martello Techologies and Co-Founder of Ruckify and Better Software, Founder and Former Chairman and CEO of Canopy Growth Corporation, and SPPA alumnus (Bachelor of Public Administration, 1992) – will offer brief remarks to the incoming students, giving them advice on how to best use their time at Carleton.

Bruce has a passion for entrepreneurship and making a positive difference in the world. He brings a wealth of experience in building strong technology companies, building world class teams and positioning his companies to deliver exceptional customer value and service. He is the Founder and Former Chairman and CEO of Canopy Growth Corporation (CGC), Co-Chairman and past CEO of Martello Technologies, and Co‐founder of Ruckify & Better Software. Bruce has been a founder, CEO and board member at a wide variety of enterprises. After beginning his career at Newbridge Networks Corporation, he has since held positions that include General Manager and Re-Founder of Computerland.ca, President and Co-Founder of webHancer Corp, and part of the establishing team at CrossKeys Systems Corporation. Bruce has been responsible for the acquisition and/or disposition of more than a billion dollars in business assets, and has established regular engagement with the World Bank and Asia Development Bank while focused on markets in India, Philippines, China, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
