CUAG invites you to a party celebrating the opening of our summer exhibitions: Marlene Creates: Places, Paths, and Pauses; and On Location: Human Interventions in the Landscape.

The party takes place at CUAG from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m., and features live sets by DJ Memetic. Opening remarks will take place at approximately 6:00 p.m. (with ASL interpretation). Admission is free and everyone is welcome!

At the opening, CUAG will launch its newest catalogue, Robert Houle: Pahgedenaun, co-published with the School of Art Gallery at the University of Manitoba, and release schoolhouse, a special, limited-edition print produced by the School of Art Gallery. All proceeds from the sale of the print will be donated to Minwaashin Lodge, an Indigenous women’s support centre in Ottawa. The schoolhouse prints are $250 each. The catalogues are $25 each. If you purchase a print, you will receive a free copy of the catalogue. Cheques and cash only, please.

Access notice: CUAG is an accessible space with barrier-free washrooms. The St. Patrick’s Building elevator will be upgraded from May through July. Visitors needing to use the elevator between the gallery’s first and second floors can use the elevator in the Stormont-Dundas Residence. We will post directional signs. Marlene Creates: Places, Paths, and Pauses is organized by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in partnership with the Dalhousie Art Gallery, with generous support from the Museums Assistance Program of Canadian Heritage and from the Canada Council for the Arts. On Location: Human Interventions in the Landscape is curated by the student team enrolled in the CURA 5001 graduate seminar in curatorial studies taught by Professor Stéphane Roy.
