The Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture (ICSLAC) is delighted to announce that the 2023 Chris Faulkner Lecture in Cultural Mediations will be delivered by distinguished cultural theorist Dr. Mieke Bal, professor emerita at the University of Amsterdam.
: "Unpacking: Concepts and Artworks Speaking Together"
This year’s lecture is organized by ICSLAC’s Ruth and Mark Phillips Professorship in Cultural Mediations, held by Dr. Birgit Hopfeber, in collaboration with the School for Studies in Art and Culture (SSAC). This event is also held in celebration of Dr. Ruth Phillips, on the occasion of her retirement. Dr. Phillips is professor emerita appointed to both ISCLAC and SSAC, whose work inspired countless students, curators and colleagues.
