About this Event

Host Organization: Washington Chapter, Carleton University Alumni Association

Join your fellow alumni for an evening dinner and discussion with journalist and Carleton grad Sylvia Thomson, MJ/94, hosted by Carleton University president Roseann O’Reilly Runte.

Reporting on Haiti: Five Years Later

Five years after the terrifying earthquake of 2010, Haiti is still struggling with the devastation. Can it ever truly rebuild, or must its citizens embrace a new and forever broken way of life?

Sylvia Thomson, former Washington Bureau Producer for CBC, has just returned from Haiti, where she prepared feature reports on the recovery. Join her at this dinner and discover what she has learned about the challenges and resilience of the Haitian people.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
