EDUCATION: THE WORLD\'S GREATEST FORCE FOR GOOD
Stephen Lewis, C.C., LL.D./09, outspoken humanitarian, will deliver a keynote address at Carleton on September 18, 2015.
Mr. Lewis will explore the ways in which education, throughout the world, transforms the lives people lead—and is perhaps the greatest unacknowledged instrument we have for dramatic social change.
Stephen Lewis is a Professor of Practice in Global Governance at the Institute for the Study of International Development at McGill University and a Professor of Distinction at Ryerson University. He is the board chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which is dedicated to turning the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa, and he is co-founder and co-director of AIDS-Free World, an international advocacy organization. Carleton University recognized these achievements with an honorary doctorate in 2009.
This event is hosted by the Faculty of Public Affairs and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and is part of Throwback 2015, Carleton\'s homecoming celebration.
