The talk discusses the digital resource for research on Great Lakes expressive cultures developed by the Carleton-based Great Lakes Research Alliance for the Study of Aboriginal Arts and Cultures. Its aims to provide digital access to Great Lakes heritage held in repositories around the world to researchers based in Indigenous communities, museums, and universities in order to develop new understandings of this heritage which are informed by Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. The talk will also describe the planned expansion of the project, which will integrate Indigenous language research, create new Indigenous and academic partnerships, and develop a publically accessible website.
