About this Event

Host Organization: Physics Department

Dr Thomas Gregoire will present a public talk in which he will discuss the current status and future prospects of some of the most important questions in physics today. The title and abstract are:

"Particle Physics at a Crossroad: What to Expect after the Higgs Boson Discovery?"

What is the nature of dark matter? Why is there more matter than anti-matter? Are there additional particles and forces in nature? These are some of the key questions still facing particle physicists after the Higgs discovery. In this talk, Professor Thomas Gregoire, a theoretical particle physicist at Carleton University, will present ideas that try to shed light on these questions and discuss how those ideas could be tested with particle colliders and other experiments.

Refreshments and discussion will follow the presentation.
