Author Meets Readers invites Carleton students and the community to join an informal discussion on new books published by members of the Carleton University Faculty of Public Affairs.

About the Book:
Constructing Private Governance: The Rise and Evolution of Forest, Coffee, and Fisheries Certification compares the myriad environmental and social certifications that appear on coffee, seafood, and forestry products. Not only is the book an investigation of the creation of these labels, but it describes how their genesis influences the way they are used now.

About the Author:

Graeme Auld is an Associate Professor at Carleton University in the School of Public Policy and Administration, with a cross appointment in the Institute of Political Economy. His research examines the emergence, evolution and impacts of non-state and hybrid forms of global governance across economic sectors, particularly fisheries, agriculture and forestry.
