SUMMARY:Confluence: Art, Science and Water in Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Artist’s Talk: Confluence: Arts, Science, and Water in Conversation

Susan Shantz teaches sculpture and multi-media studio art in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Saskatchewan. Her recent body of work, Confluence, was informed by collaborative projects with the South Saskatchewan River, the river delta, and environmental scientists, including a team-taught course and the related, award-winning film, Becoming Water. Her artworks explore embodied ways of knowing using a wide range of materials and processes including textiles, ceramics and found objects. She has exhibited widely across Canada and internationally for the past thirty years and her artworks are in many public and private collections.
