Daniel McDowell is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. He received his PhD from the University of Virginia in 2012, and his research focuses on the politics of international finance, financial crsies, sovereign debt and the international monetary system. His work has been published in journals such as International Studies Quarterly, New Political Economy and Review of International Organization. His book, Brother, Can You Spare a Billion? The United States, the IMF, and the International Lender of Last Resort, was published by OUP in 2016.
