Please join us for this day-long workshop organized by the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Relations with Russia and the Eastern Neighbourhood.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the European Union enlargement, this workshop will examine the impact of EU accession for the eight new member states located in Central and Eastern Europe. All of these countries were part of the Soviet Bloc prior to the collapse of the USSR, and thus faced major transition challenges both before and after EU accession. The workshop will feature leading experts who will address political, social, environmental, and economic impacts of accession.
