A special event will be hosted by the Jean Monnet Chair (EUREAST) featuring a presentation, “Authoritarianism and EU Enlargement in the Western Balkans: The Rise of Stabilitocracy,” by Professor Florian Bieber. A panel discussion following the lecture will include Mr. Brice De Schietere and Professor Zoran Oklopic.

Dr. Bieber is a Professor of Southeast European Studies and the Director of the Centre for Southeast European Studies at the University of Graz, Austria.

Mr. De Schietere is Deputy Head of Delegation at the Delegation of the European Union to Canada, Ottawa.

Zoran Oklopic is Associate Professor of Law and Legal Studies, Carleton University.
