We are pleased to co-host a special event, “NATO’s Approach to Hybrid Warfare: Evolving Threats and Lessons for Canada and Europe.”

About the event: Much confusion surrounds the nature of “hybrid warfare” – conflict that includes multiple dimensions such as conventional/unconventional, regular/irregular, cyber and informational tactics. Emerging threats are redefining security priorities for NATO allies which include Canada and a majority of European Union member states. The panelists will offer insights on these evolving tactics, and share experiences and best practices from the Baltics.

Presenters:

Jānis Sārts, Director, NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, Riga

Andrew Rasiulis, Fellow, Canadian Global Affairs Institute

Marcus Kolga, Senior Fellow, Macdonald-Laurier Institute

Commentator:

Stephanie Carvin, Assistant Professor, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs

Light refreshments will be provided. No registration is required.

This event is co-sponsored by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in the Centre for European Studies (CES) at Carleton University, the Government of Canada, and the Embassies of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in Ottawa.
